Academic advising

Academic advising is available from the Undergraduate Representative and from any faculty member in the Department.
  • Prof. Avinash Dixit, Fisher 212, 8-4013. Fall '08 Office Hours: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 1:00 -3:00 p.m., Thursdays, 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. or by appointment.                                                   
  • When meeting with the Departmental Representatives for consultations on your overall program, please fill out and bring with you the Economics Course Plan Table. (This is not required for minor course changes.)

Note: Queries regarding the Program in Political Economy should be directed to the Political Economy Advisor, Prof. Marco Battaglini. Queries regarding the Undergraduate Certificate in Finance should be directed to the Finance Representative, Prof. Harrison Hong.

Signatures

Course cards, add/drop forms, cognate approval forms, PPE applications, and transfer-credit approval forms are signed by the Undergraduate Representatives.

Note: For students who require only a signature, please leave forms in Professor Dixit's mail box. Forms will ordinarily be signed and available the next day from the Undergraduate Program Manager.

Either Undergraduate Representative can sign Add/Drop forms.

Note: Add/Drop forms without an ECO (or cognate) course do NOT require a signature for submission to the Registrar.

Prof. Dixit signs cognate approval and transfer-credit approval forms.               

Prof. Battaglini signs PPE applications.

Comments/suggestions on departmental policies

You can direct these to any member of the Undergraduate Liaison Committee.
